The project involved an existing 15,394 square foot building needing work that included a complete interior build out of the first floor (Phase 1), and renovations to the occupied second floor (Phase 2). The project scope involved demolition and removal of existing wall assembles, flooring, ceilings, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical construction, followed by new interior build-out including but not limited to construction of a new interior monumental stair, misc. steel, drywall assemblies, ceilings, painting, doors & hardware, glass & glassing, flooring, millwork, specialties, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work. Additionally, the project also required misc. concrete work and re-striping of existing parking lot.
Existing Life Safety Barriers and features remained in place throughout construction, with new life safety measures added as part of new scopes of work.
The second floor remained occupied throughout the construction process, so careful planning and various measures and considerations were needed to reduce disruptions and ensure safety. Additionally, temporary shoring was required to support the occupied 2nd floor for the installation of the monumental stair and structural steel.
